I think i heard suggestions that it will be out towards the end of the year.

There is a website (abcdv.com?) that had some screen shots and a brief review from a trade show i think.

I have no idea as to the source or accuracy of the end of year date, so don't hold me to it.

I think though after playing with the demo version of edius last night that i will be moving in that direction.

Thanks for your replay Gordo.

I dont know if i should buy buy edition pro.
or wait for adobe premier v 7.

as i have the pinnacle pro one card which is great, never had any problems with it.
but it wont work with edition, so i am told.
and it cost me a lot of monies.

you would think pinnacle would have configured edition to take advantage of its real time editing cards.

but it is all money related.

Thanks again Tom G.

Hi Gordo

I too have the Edius demo but have not got it running yet. What do you like with Edius over Premiere? In a few words.
Thanks

Here's the Premiere 7 screenshot which I coincidentally posted this morning in the General forum.

Quote: "What will bring Premiere back into contention with the release of v7 is that Adobe seem to be going head-to-head with Final Cut Pro's feature set (though maybe not with a Mac version but Windows only).

FCPs unlimited Timeline Sequences in each Project, and with 'nested' Virtual Clips (of any depth) instantly available within any Sequence at the same point in the Timeline makes it ENORMOUSLY powerful. From these screen-shots that's exactly what Adobe seem to be implementing..."

Hi John,

I have only played with edius briefly (15-20 minutes) but i found it fairly easy to use and was able to get the basics happening without referring to the manual.

The interface works fairly well, I think a dual monitor setup is a must, and i figure with the intro price of 199, its a great replacement for quick projects that need more than storm edit, but premiere is over kill for.

It will almost cetainly be showing over this side at IBC in September - lets hope it will also be ready to ship then too.
