"Canopus RealTime DV" causes my system lockup, as changing it to "DV Playback doesn't"... although that option is not really suitable?
Any further advice with my DV Raptor/Win2k/Prem6 setup?
This is with canpous latest canpous 2000 drivers and software. I did originally have an older version, but still hung the PC.
Yes, I did make sure I re-installed the Canopus drivers and software, rebooted, then Prem 6.0 (not 6.01) as adviced by another raptor person.
(I have windows SP2)
Hi Jez,
do you have a DVRaptor or DVRaptor-RT, which revision of the DVRaptor drivers are you running. Version 2.12a seems to think that DVRaptors are DVRaptor-RTs, try using Version 2.12, had same problem with a customer a week ago.

Hi
Thanks... I've jsut had an email ralley with DVC and we've discovered my Diamond Ultra 66 card, cable or hard disk is possibably at fault as the Raptor test sometimes locks the machine up too!
So A re-format is comming first - in FAT32 not NTFS.
FYI I was running the DV Raptor 2.12a drivers.
I have also noticed that the windows system log reports the hard disk may be running slow due to old firmware in the Ultra66 card... I don't think this is the problem, but I'll update it somehow!
Regards.
I'm running Dv raptor Not RT
and had trhe same problem, by tweaking the system with tweaks that i found for win 2K
especially the pagefile size and location and ending proceses that weren't needed
this seemed to cure the problem.
I also found that when running the realtime audio in prem 6 if you had imported Wav files in 44.1 khz and had sample rate conversion set to best this would cause playback to be stuttery and lead to lockups, the best way was to convert the wav to 48khz then re import it and leave prem's sample rate converter off.
Thanks,
I just had a quick look at my settings. The only file in the project is a simple AVI and it's go the same sample rate 48k / 16bit as the project so there should be no conversion. One thing I JUST noticed that was different, the file has a field setting of "Unknown" while the project is set to "Lower field first"...
Maybe I should try a normal capture first. This AVI was converted using FlaskMPEG, perhaps that is causing me a problem too..
Anyhow - as the raptor disk test hung the pc in the same way today, I should look into getting that working....
