i have loaded 3hrs of tape into fce1 and someof it (20mins 0 seems to be all kind of quickened up and "charlie chaplin" like, what is wrong?
john
Need a few more details to go on, John: 3hrs? from 3xminiDVs? from one VHS? from DVCAM? FCE capture settings? FCE sequence settings?
mooblie
i ahve captured 3x tapes mini dv, using final cut excpress one, all the rest of the footage is fine, when i open the bad footage in the quicktime player its fine, it seems lkie some setting is wrong somewhere
john
mooblie
when i bring it into a new sequence and render its fine, cannot figure this one out
jon
If it needs rendering immediately when first bringing the footage into a sequence, then the capture settings did not match the sequence settings.
Is this all supposed to be DV-PAL?
yes
all the rest if the footage is fine , same settings etc, what do i have to do now to correct
john
Have you tried re-confirming your capture settings are what you want, and then recapturing the problem section?
the data rate seems different than the rest @ 2906 compare to 3704, just a thought ... can i bring in the quicktime file to the bin or timeline
john
mooblie
i think i have it sorted, i traced the file to the capture scrath and opened it with FCE, so far its ok, although i just working on it
john
i have no render space left, and need to free up space, now, i am not at all what you would call fleunt on the FCE or the Mac( OS10) 512m 60gig laptop, the charlie chaplin footage is still on the hardrive and fce 1, can i find it to delete it.....no , i have done "get info" but it says it is a quicktime file, so when i go to open the quicktime file....... its not there, i cannot figure this out, the lenght of the footage i need to delete is 45 mins,
( cannot delete it as it is a file i need, something esle is wrong)
in the capture scratch the total footage captured is 39.97 gb, so its a 60gb harddrive so i figure there should be loads left for rendering...so what else is taking this up.
john
If you right-click (or ctrl-click) on the raw charlie chaplin footage in the browser bin, it says "Reveal in Finder".
Does that help locate it, so you can delete it?
BTW: John, you really shouldn't be doing all this on the internal hard drive - an external (firewire) drive is really needed for your captured footage at least.
Mooblie,
thnaks for the reply, i will try that and get back to you, it just seems i have saved it too many times , i have loads of quick time files and everthing, i have saved the final wedding to the desktop if that's any good to know
john
i control clicked ok ,:
source file:macHD/users/john/destop/untiltled0001, but i think when i opened that earlier on today it was fine and did not look charlie chaplin like.. it played fine, so i moved it to the trash,,but did not delete it, and then when i opened the timline again it said media offfline, so i am completely lost
capture scratch read 39-91 on disk
john
the mac guy came down and put the capture scratch files in the trash then checked the timeline to see if all was there and it was ok, so then he emptied the trash and now i am rendering which says 13hrs, will this be ok as he says its a copy on the timeline and once its rendered it'll be ok, i have my doubts, and i think i will have to capture the tapes again
john
