If you can, watch this film, it's a hoot. I rented the DVD last weekend before noticing that it's on BBC4 on Friday. After a frustrating 5 minutes fiddling around in the DVD me4nus I fianlly worked out what I had to do and then sat spellbound by it a genuine "comedie-noir" (it's in French, BBC4'll subtitle it).
Incidentally, I noticed that Pitof has the credits for Digital Effects. He's the director who made the first cine-release fril in HDTV a year or more before George Lucas made the "first cine-release" film in HDTV, which was also after Wim Wenders had done the first as well, along with quite a few others.
Ho humm.
Anyway, watch it if you can, I'm still treeling from some of the imagery in it, and the story line's a cracker, even though it's deliberately telegraphed to the viewer from about the first minute.
If you like this film you should try The City of Lost Children; its even darker!
On the other hand I thought 'Delicatessen' was a much better movie overall. Note also that you may recognise the "inspiration" for a certain TV ad which came out a couple of years ago.
