Something seems odd about this one. I haven't clicked on any of the links yet. Opinions?

Re: Dodgy "private message" alert
Folks, this is not dodgy.
We've had enormous trouble with spammers and have made various changes to prevent them posting and, so far, it appears to be successful.
There are currently some knock-on effects - what you are seeing with PMs is one of them.
I think that there is a setting that can be changed that will prevent this PM nuisance but we are still investigating - so if anyone has tweaked their own notification setting and successful stopped these PMs, please let us know here.
TIA
Bob C

Re: Dodgy "private message" alert
We are currently trying out a few things to stop the spammers. Somewhere down the line I must have set the default notification method to PM instead of email. I've changed it back. Let me know if it made a difference.
