After my DV500 being isolated in my computer for ten years or so, I now have it connected to the internet and thought it would be a good idea to see if I could get a newer driver.
But I can't find a driver.
Can anyone help me locate one.
The computer runs on XP.

Cheers.

Robert, you could always start a post for "Where is everyone?"

PC Specialist 3Gz Dual Core, Premiere CS3, Encore CS3, After Effects CS3, Matrox RT.X2, Panasonic HD HS-300, Z1E & PMW-EX3 Cams.

Now with a PC Specialist Quad Core i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 180GB SSD, GeForce GTX560 Ti Graphics Card, Blu-Ray & DVD R/W Burners and can't wait to set it up. Now up and running.  What a difference in Blu-Ray footage.

Re: DV 500 Driver

Found them! - I knew I had some DV500 drivers somewhere from those days when often the first part of one of my 'on-site' training sessions was loading DV500 drivers for the client (there was a complication to it but I can't remember what it was now).

Anyway, I seem to have Pinnacle disks for 'v 2.00' (dated Feb2001) and 'Edition 4.5' (not dated). Any use?

Re: DV 500 Driver
Thanks Ray but I have the insallation disc for my DV500 4.5.
What I was interested in was finding out if there were any driver updates to be had.
But that's not my main problem at the moment. My main problem is that I uninstalled the DV500 program in the hope that doing so would solve an editing fault and now it refuses to re-install'
What I need is an old version of Windows XP as all the indications are that the DV500 will install with that.
My editing computer is running on XP sp2 and DV500 seemingly won't install with that software.

Do you ever get the notion to just give up????

Cheers.

Used an old version of XP and my DV500 installed without a problem.

Cheers all.

Re: DV 500 Driver
Things seemed to be going well untill I found that the computer wasn't recognising the DV 500 capture card. After countless installations of the DV500 software, the capture card became active. (don't know why)
But now the Premier 6.5 refuses to open. I uninstalled it and now it refuses to re-install.
Thinking about getting a Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 16 but don't know if it will import from the DV500.
I've been trying like mad to get things set up as they were because I liked working with Premier 6.5.
Will I ever again sit at my editing computer and everything will work they way it's meant to.

(Why has this thread became too wide for the screen. Is it PaulD's big web address/link that's doing it).

Cheers.
