Haven't figured out what's happening here, but in Edius v6 I'm often told (when I go to open up a saved project) that it's a read-only file, and I'll have to change its name when I save it after any changes I make. I'm obviously doing something simple and daft. Anyone know which?

Re: Edius tells me it's a 'read-only' project
I`ve only had this happen following a crash! I assume that you are "Saving" on a regular basis & when you exit Edius?

Tom, any news/luck on the above. I am also experiencing this of late. I never use to have this problem.
I will be grageful to know if you have "fixed/sort" it out

Re: Edius tells me it's a 'read-only' project
Don't have it happen as often as I used to. I thought I'd found a link between the 'read only file' message and when I 'saved as' before closing - as in project named 'xyz first cut' and saving as 'xyz second cut'. What I started doing was to 'save as' and then press 'play' on the timeline and then simply 'save' again. It seemed to work for me but it may well just be simple coincidence. It might just as easily be the application of a filter or adjustment of the sound level and then saving straight away without playing first that causes the problem - perhaps it's the pressing 'play' that's the essential bit?
