I don't know if this is the right forum for this question but here goes. I have an Epson Stylus photo R300 used by two PC's and linked via a switch over unit. All this works perfectly but my problem is with the Epson print CD programme whic is part of the Empson programme. One PC used Windows XP and the other Windows 7.  On the XP PC the CD print programme will not recognise or can't find the folder containing my pictures. This has only happened very recently, and so when making  a print to disc label I can't insert any pictures using this route. The only way I can do it, is to when importing pictures  to the PC I place them directly onto the hard drive and not into the pictures Folder. The print CD programme will then insert the pictues directly from the hard drive.  It wil find the harddrive but not any folders contained on the Harddrive.  I have tried re-installing the programme but it makes no difference.  On the other PC the system still works perfectly.  I would like to know if I can cure the situation as a load of images scattered over the hard drive makes for a longer time in finding them for insertion.  Any help welcomed as long as it is in plain English please.

Re: EPSON PRINT CD
I've got an Epson R300 and I use it with a Windows 7 computer.   I did have had trouble after upgrading from XP but not the problems you mention.  I've never actually found a driver for the printer that seems to be correct for Windows 7 but I've managed to keep it working albeit with some facilities no longer available.
As far as Print CD goes, I did discover that there are two versions available: -

1.20E
2.05.00E

I thought the version 2 would be more suitable for Win7 but in practice and for no apparent reason, they both now work OK but differently!  When 'import picture' is activated they both allow me to browse to any folder I like.  It might be worth installing the version that you don't have to see if that works any better.

It seems to me that using the R300 with Win7 is a bit marginal - I'm just happy that they continue to function after a fashion.

Good luck.

Just to let you know I have managed to cure the problem and everything is back to normal. Nice to know my brain still works if other things don't.

Would you care to share "the cure" for others?

Re: EPSON PRINT CD

Hi DUGI.  After a lot of experimenting I found that by openng a new folder on the hard drive and putting in new pics from Google images, the Epson CD print programme accepted all the pics in the new folder. I was going to leave it at that but then realised there was nothing wrong with the programme or the new folder. I then thought perhaps the original My pictures folder was  corrupted. However I deleted all the pics in the original programme and tranferred the ones from the new folder which worked  to the old original  my pictures folder. CD print accepted the  old folder with  transferred pics in it.   I then rtealised that one or more pics in the old original pics folder was at fault.  The only new pics I had placed in the original  pics folder before everything went wrong. was thrtee freeze frame pics I saved from an old video I was working on, so I looked at the properties of these pics and discovered they were TIFF which were unsupported by Epson  CD print.  I then placed these PICs  into photoshop and saved them as JPEG into the original MY Pictues folder along with all the other Pics that was orinally in the folder. CD print now accepted the folder. Problem solved  and it seems that with  my outfit CD print will not accept any pics in a folder that has an unsupported type of pic  mixed with them.  I would have thought logically that the CD print programme would accept the supported pics and reject the unsupported ones. But as I found out long ago PC.s are not  always logically minded.

Interesting. For years, the only way I could be sure of getting my jpegs recognised by Print CD was to create a new desktop folder and put them in that. Now I know why. I also had Tiff files in my other folders. Many thanks Roy.
