I am so impressed with this new bulletin board and the amount of information and even though I felt resonably solid on the computer and editing side I have to admit I know little about filming.

Hey filming is the really fun part! You can talk forever about the equipment, but in the end it's the person who makes a film. Give a great director the worst equipment and he could still come up with a good film. Although having good equipment is nice :)
I have been Web deprived for the last month and I must say that I am stoked to see this Movie making techniques thread added to the CV user forum.
All to often user forums only focus on fixing hardware and software problems and ignore the real business at hand, ie> making film or video productions.
