Did they fail to play properly 75% of the way through?
This happened to me with one pack of Ritek, I had a refund within 30 mins of emailing SVP

I have a batch of ritek that won't record in my panasonic standalone recorders , but will record in my pc writer.
I think the dye has been changed and some of the older drives , aren't willing to tollerate the change.

This happened to me but the other way around, Ok in Panny, 'No Disc' in my DVD Writers, OK when burnt, these Ritek DVD's were from a different supplier

Ritek batches don't seem to be consistent ATM

I bought the same 8x Ritek -R disks at a computer fair and had a fair amount of failures.

Since buying from Lynx I have not had a failure.

I have the same burner in one of my edit suites and use Ulead DVDWS and Verbatim discs.

Can't really ever remember any failures (says he touching wood). Pay the extra few pennies and buy the best you can.

I recently bought the same Ritek Inkjet printable disk in a tub from the local market. I have now used 25 of the 50. and touch wood have had no failures. I use a Pioneer 105 burner and The DVWS authoring programme. The disc play on every one of the six DVD players I have as well as a combi TV. After reading what you have said I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Incidently I chose Ritek because of good reports. For years I had only used Verbatim but suddenly they became unreliable. I believe they have returned to their former excellence.

Ive just gone thru 50 ritek 8x printable DVD+R with not a single coaster . I did waste 1 or 2 DVD-R but Nero needed reinstalling as it had become corrupt. i use aPioneer 109/ 110 with Nero 6/7.
As for Verbatim same story... no wastage at all so far

2 Verbatim
Although Last time I was at PC World, the disks were manufactured in India, and I don't know how these compare with the Taiwanese/Japanese disks.

3 BENQ - But I can't find any in stock anywhare at the moment!

For cheap test burns I tend to go for disks with the CMC MAG AE1 dye, curently:

I've been trying different disks over the past six months and also had a minor problem with the Ritek kind (From Lynx and More For Your Monkey) and since notifying I've noted that More For Your Monkey doesn't supply them now - down to 4x type - and Lynx I can't raise on the Net, either from the link mentioned or my own earlier connection..... !

At present I'm about halfway through Verbatims without any problems. The Panny ones are out of stock.

I too have almost always used Verbatim, and can`t remember having had a failure except when I have made a mistake with the recording.
Thats down to me and not Verbatim.
