Chad,JohnC and Frood thanks for the info in my previous question.I have managed to get one of those free demo's of Media Studio Pro nad yes it does seem to be more user friendly and just what I'm looking for, But...(their had to be one!) could you just put me straight on one point.Here goes;
In Avid I can play the video input and with just a click of the mouse record and stop from the source straight onto the hard drive, after setting the destination point,once.In the demo I have of Media Studio, it seems every time I want to record one clip I have to set the name of the clip and destination before I can carry on.Because this is a demo I haven't got an instruction manual, and I would just like to know if it is possible to set Media Studio up so that it will capture sequentially i.e. Avi.1, Avi.2,Avi3 etc., by default rather than every time having to set it up.
Thanks Neil Pugh
Under File>Preferences, there is an option "Display capture options before each capture"
(This is not the correct wording but close enough that you'll recognize it). Simply uncheck that option, and capture will begin without the options prompt and seq number each clip.
TIP: leave this option checked for the first clip so you can type in the full path for your capture session. Once the first clip is done, then turn the option off.
Also, if you haven't found it, you can use the F5 key to begin capturing rather than the mouse & menus.
hope this helps

Neil,
If you wnat a copy of the manuals go to :
http://www.matroxusers.com/Manuals.html
It isn't up and running at the moments but it shouldn't be long. You should then be able to download the manuals, if you can't wait let me know and I'll e-mail you a copy (it's about 3.5MB zipped).
Chad!
RobMcl great tip cheers.
Thanks Chad.If you could Mail me it would be most appreciated.Also the user interface is much easier so it looks like it's the full version for me!
Thanks again,Neil.
Neil,
I've just mailed you a copy of the Media Studio Pro manuals. It was easier for me to do it from work, rather than Chad sending it from home, also it should save our Mum's phone bill.
