I'm not getting the PM notifications now, but I'm getting 2 'normal' notifications at a time, and the URL for the post doesn't highlight. No big deal, easy to copy/paste into browser - just wondering why.

Spoke too soon - backing to getting PM notifications, with links that just direct to a "404 not found" page.

...and now I'm getting one PM notification, and one normal one. Neither with a working link. Forum seems to be all over the place at the mo.

My downhill spiral started today with having notifications of private message from anyone who posted. Can't find a way to turn it off so for now I just delete the emails.

I`m now getting notifications saying "New Private Message" at DV Forums but in fact they are new posts to an existing thread that i havn`t knowingly subscribed to! I don`t want to turn of having an email saying new PM as sometimes I might get something that`s not for general publication, but I would like to be told when there is a new post to a thread I`m following, does that make sense?

Hi Barry
You need to change your 'Messaging and Notifications settings' from ' Private message' to 'HTML Mail' and save your settings to change the 'Default sending method for getting messages from this system'.
Sadly if your experience is the same as mine, you won't receive the email notifications to subscribed posts

The only other thing I did as I was fed with the constant PM notifications was to un-subscribed, then I auto-subscribed again when Martin re-enabled the HTML email option
The PM's have now stopped as well as the emails, I thought it was just a problem for me, I mentioned the missing email notifications to Martin over a week ago but it seems to have slipped his memory.
I also noted someone having a problem staring a new paragraph when posting, I get that when posting in Windows 7 using IE, XP is OK with IE and Chrome works OK with Windows 7 and XP.
I don't have forum Admin rights so I can do nowt except nudge Bob and Martin when issues arise, which is probably just as well
