Used to have a Z7 & S270 that used the MRC1 & you could either set it to record via the cam rec button or do it manually.

Barry, it's different with the Z1 since the MRC1K doesn't dock with the camera in the same way.
Mic, read the MRC1K manual! It explains exactly how to do it in there. If you don't have a physical copy then you can download it from the Sony website.

my sony z7 cf card is not working. when i connected to cam its shows format it. i have done what it said. even its not getting record.

Do you know that the camera and the MRC1K both work? Have you used them before successfully? Have you used them before successfully with this card?
What kind of Compact Flash card is it?
What's the capacity?
Have you tried using a different CF card in the MRC1K? If so, does that work?
Have you tried formatting the card in a computer (It has to be formatted FAT32) and then tried it in the MRC1K?

Card is KINGSTON, 16 GB and 32 GB card (two cards), COMPACT FLASH, ULTIMATE 266X.
Always showing format card.even i formatted with camera (SONY Z7) again it shows same message.

Mark, I'm wondering if he has a MR1K. He has a Z7 so may just be having a problem with the cam and CF cards.

I don't understand what you mean.
The only way to record to CF with the Z7 is by using the MRC1K (sorry, that was my typo before, not MR1K) which is an external recorder which clips on to the back of the camera. Otherwise you can only record to tape.
