When I output a finished video to tape, the picture is fine but there are occasional blips and jumps in the music track accompanying the film. What could this be as when editing and then watching the finished video before it goes back out to camcorder, the music is fine. It seems to be when outputting to camcorder the problem starts. Is there a remedy or is the firewire lead duff or does my camcorder heads need cleaning. I just don't know and it's very frustrating to have the finished film ruined with these blips. Any help is gratefully appreciated.
More info at least might help!
What PC, Speed, OS etc.......
What camcorder
What Firewire card.
Anything else that might help us help you.
Of course GG specs are, athlon 750 pc 40gb main drive, 80gb video drive, Panasonic dv in out camcorder, firewire card bought seperately new at £35 with cable from scan memory 256.
What Firewire card? (Again, model chipset etc.)
Which video editor?
Which operating System? (Again)
Which motherboard model?

Try reducing the number of unrendered audio tracks to one (in project audio settings) and pre-rendering the audio before playing out to tape.
Also, try to avoid doing audio sample rate conversions on the timeline. Better to use an external audio editor to prepare material in project format in advance to reduce the load on your CPU during replay to tape.

Hi
1. Install the VIA 4 in 1 drivers
2. There are some BIOS settings which may help (Old but useful). http://pub9.ezboard.com/fpyro1394faqs.showMessage?topicID=34.topic
3. Try a Ulead trial & see if you still have problems
