I want to upgrade my rt 2000 system from a P3 to a P4 2 Ghz cpu.
Can anyone please advise on which motherboards for Pentium 4 work best with the rt 2000?
I don't need built in sound or raid or lan, but I would like to get the fastest bus and ram speeds that the latest motherboards are offering, as long as they are stable with the rt2000.
Also, would it be advisable to run win xp pro or will my win 2k be suitable?
Thanks for any advice.

check the matrox site. http://www.matrox.com/videoweb/support/rt2500/rec/m_compat.htm
any board ratified for rt2500 is ok for rt2000.

asus p4b266
intel d845wn
intel d850 gb
supermicro p4sba+
tyan trinity i845 s2090

windows 2000 will work fine, though i am moving my machines to xp over the holidays.

I've not ried them personally, but I've heard very good things about the ECS K7S5A, and K7S6A. The're SiS-based P4 boards, and have great PCI bandwidth.
