This is still concerning the problem of making MPEG2 files from Premiere. Does anybody know why the 'MPEG' radio button is 'greyed out' when I try to export from the timeline to web?

If you have the EZ version of Cleaner I don't think it includes MPEG2 output.
Thanks John,
Do you know if there is an upgrade path?
Regards,
Bill Lewis
No, not as such, CleanerEZ is usually 'bundled' free with software, ie: Premiere etc, Cleaner is a sold as a full blown package for around 350UK.
In my opinion Cleaner is very slow, overated, overpriced and not capable of that good a result, - I have the full copy on a Mac 733 and never use it! A better and cheaper option is to use TMPGEnc (free) and pay for the MPEG2 license (or wait for TMPGEnc Pro -just announced in Japan)
On a DVD forum I visit regularly many 'pro users are switching from QT5 MPEG2 and/or Cleaner to TMPGEnc - editing in FCP on a Mac, n/working to a PC to encode then n/working back to author in DVD Studio Pro)
Cleaner and it's associated packages have just been sold (for the second time!) to Discreet so new developments might be on the way.

Thanks for this info. I will continue to use TMP, although I hear that Ulead have an upgrade to MSP 6 that writes to MPEG2. I will investigate
Bill
I have Cleaner 5, the full version and it does write MPEG2 files, however if you try and tweak the setting to get the right files for SVCD, it says go to their web site and purchase an upgrade.
Since they have been sold, this upgrade does not appear to exist.

Thanks Dave,
Cleaner looks like a dead end. I will provide some info on the Ulead MSP6 plug-in when I have fully tested it.

I have mentioned it only in case its not been noticed, and so that anyone interrested can explore its possibilities in greater depth.
