Hi,
Anyone out there got a Panasonic DMR-E20, if so , maybe you can answer some questions before i go out and buy one( i would prefer to buy the E20 as apposed to the E30 because the E20 has a firewire socket and the E30 dosen't)!
Q1. Can i edit a tape in Pinnacle Studio Deluxe and record it onto DVD-R ? (I know i can record it onto DVD RAM)
Q2. Is it possible to connect the E20 to a TV which dosen't have a scart socket, I'm sure the E20 connects to a TV via the RF connections.
Q3. Can the E20 play mp3's ?
Q4. Will a DVD-R which has been made on the E20 play in a new DVD player ? If so, which make and model ?
Any advice, much appreciated.
KWallace.
Hi,
Bought one a couple of weeks ago when price dropped. Try and answer a couple of your questions,
1. U can record direct to DVD-R from tape either Dv or analoge.
2. yes connecting to the RF downloads the available channels, but for viewing I use scart connection.
3.Not tried one, cant see any ref in manual for mp3.
4.After the process of finalisation I can play the dvd-r in my Pioneer 444 and Sony 315,
You need to carefully choose the make of disc that will work with your equipment.
As a matter of interest the manual says the Panny wont play dvd-rw but mine does (data safe)
I"m sure others will have more help for you.

Hi
Just to add, these things do not output via RF. Videos of course you tune in a spare channel and the TV picks up the picture like any other signal, however DVD Recorders only output via SCART/S-Video or Composite.
If your TV has none of these I do not think you will be able to see anything, it will record the programs of course, just not show them via the aerial.
