Editing keyboard for Mac / Final Cut Pro

The new thin keyboard that comes with the Mac Pro is not to my liking.
It continually runs words together when I type because I'm not hitting the space bar effectively. I'm also having to hit the keys harder just to ensure that the keystroke is recognized.

I also miss my ps2 PC keyboard that had colour-coded keys for Avid when I was on a PC.

Can anyone please suggest a usb keyboard that has shortcut keys for Final Cut Pro (latest version) and has extra usb ports (at least one) on the keyboard for the mouse and other usb peripherals and works correctly with a Mac Pro and includes the eject key to open/close the dvd bay doors on the Mac Pro?

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks but those are overpriced.

Well you get what you pay for. I bought a cheap one last year and although it is OK, some of the letters and symbols have begun to rub off. It's probably worth it to buy the more expensive ones IMO.

(I can't remember the make of the one I bought but I found it on Google.)

There doesn't seem to be a lot of choice.
The Bella one looks interesting. The Logic one is just an old Apple keyboard with some key caps different. It would be cheaper just to get key labels that stick on.
Maybe I'll look for a nice usb keyboard with extra usb ports and buy some shortcut labels.

it's not an "old" apple keyboard, but it is a genuine one. replacement keys are available if you wanted to replace the keys on your current one.

Bella have a one that has a jog wheel fitted.

I already have a contour pro that I haven't yet tried on the new mac

Logic keyboards may be overpriced but they are decent quality. I edit for a living and wouldn't want to use stick on solutions but each to their own.

Skins might be a viable alternative

Hi,

I would recommend you buy a cheap keyboard from any shop or eBay, for like $7 then add some Final Cut Editors Keys to the keyboard for $15, so a Final Cut keyboard with what ever keyboard suits you for under $30...! Not bad:

May be an interesting solution, but if anyone can get to the G5 keyboard page I'd like to know how. What's the point in maintaining a commercial website with links that just don't work???
