the question is simple....I have a Jvc dvl-9000 and want to transfer my footage in the digital domain to my PC for non-linear editing using a good program. I know my computer is fast enough, has enough hard disk space etc. when I have finished the project, I need to transfer the footage from my PC to VHS-PAL tape (or S-VHS at a stretch)....so, what I need to know is which capture card, what software??? Any assistance would be very welcome.

Avoid the Adaptec cards. I had the DV300 which basically was incompatible with the JVC. I eventually sold it to someone with a Sony DVCam who e-mailed me to say it worked well.
My researches told me that the Raptor which everyone raves about was also not cmpatible with the JVC and that I should go for the MotoDV Studio.
