Is it possible to get get the screw-down 3.5mm jack plug as a part so I can make up longer leads for the EW 500 G2 series? What I need is a longer lead from the Receiver to XLR socket on the back of my camera (Sony DSR500). The standard Sennheiser one simply is not long enough. I need one around a meter long and I am happy to make it up as long as I can get the jack and confirmation of the wiring.

I looked for a screw down jack at both Maplins & RS with no luck, so I was thinking it might be a Sennheiser only part. Can these be purchsed seperately John?

at least one Sony wireless mic system comes with the same connector , so unless it's made by sennheiser for sony , they aren't the only users.

The screw 3.5mm mini-jack is available from Sennheiser Service Dept.

Yes, Sony do them too - but the Sony version was very expensive.

Sony were the first to use this connector and when Sennheiser started using it too for evolution radio, Sony were the only source for a replacement plug.

Eventually Sennheiser located a cheaper source and they are now about £10 from Sennheiser.

I agree, still expensive, but about a third of what they used to be.
