Could anyone tell me the easiest way to superimpose a logo on to my web videos? I have to do this to stop other agents pinching them of the site and using them.

would have thought the easiest way is to do it in the edit process, add the logo as an image into your project and change the opacity so it's still visable but won't distract you from the video.

Thought of that but the logo I have in mind is an animated 3d logo which would need to be overlayed on to the video during editing with the animations background transparency intact. It can't be that hard cnbc can do it :D

Thanks guys,
Will have a look at qt pro. The wrigley tutorial is just what I was looking for, all I need to do now is adjust that to work in Avid Liquid.

Merhaba,

Just beware where you put your logo. Too close to the corners and another user could easily edit your logo out by zooming in or cropping.

Nice to know there's another Turk on the forum!

Merhaba Atila Bay,

Placing the logo is a problem as I have found when putting logos on our web pictures, You need it to be enough that people can't copy the picture without severely cropping it to get rid of the logo.A somewhat obtrusive logo is not so important on a still image but may be too obtrusive on a video. Looks like a bit of trial and error I think.
I am only an honorary turk at the moment but I will be applying for citizenship in 7 months time (if my language skills are up to scratch !!).
Kendine iyi bak.

Alan, maybe this is a consequence of an unsuitable logo than of the editing parameters.

Logo's are normally about branding and ownership, with simplicity a key design point, along with careful choice of colour layout and font.

Think of ICI, MacDonalds 'm', ebay's four coloured letters etc.
Admittedly, not having a world wide household presence is a factor for us small companies, but I still believe simplicity is a keynote of good design.

Maybe the answer for you (or your client?) is to have 2 logo's, a full/current version and a simplified version - as in 'McDonalds' and 'm' example, the latter being the variant for superimposing on video.

A neat way of doing this is to emboss and shadow an alpha mask of the logo shape so it is a shadowy presence rather than a full-colour overlay. That way you can put it more into the middle without ruining it completely. But, as said above, best to use a very simple design.

Thanks for your input guys. I think the best way is to have a separate, simpler logo for the videos. I like the idea of the 'shadowy presence' overlay. That would make it very difficult for anyone to copy and cut out the logo.

Cheers Guys

Hi
I used Discreet cleaner to superimpose the log onto this footage

It was very easy, but now I would probably just render another version with a semi-transparent layer from the timeline in PP CS3. You could just add a video track and switch it off for the real (non-logo) render.

Please no comments about the website - its being revamped as we speak!!!!!
