I wonder if anyone out there has got the same problems as I have, and if so, is there a workaround for it.
I have happily used the PC95 version 4.01 software that came with my firewire card for about the last year-and-a-half. I purchased it from Lynx DV and under Win 98 and ME everything has functioned as it should.
But..... I have just installed Windows XP Pro and after installing the PC95 software, when I double-click it, I here the HD whirring, but the programme doesn't start.
The camcorder is plugged in to the LANC socket via the parallel port, the port is enabled in the bios, but the programme doesn't run. I would also point out that I have tried using Win 98 and 96 compatibility mode, but still the same problem. Is this a known issue? If there is no work-around, is there any other software out there that can do this?
Thanks for any help, Neil.
Just as an additional note, should I install DV Connect 3.30 for this to work?
Thanks, still waiting for a reply
Hi There
I sent an e-mail to Lnyx:
"I have the AutoPC95 software that I bought back in September 2001 and I
was wondering if the Software that I have is compatible with windows XP the
foppy disk states that it will not work with windows 2000. I need to
de-activate the dv-in on my camera to send it for repair"
they responded by telling me that thier is an XP patch available from the folwing link:

Hope this helps

Right, I'm really confused.
What software do you actually have?
PC95 Camcorder Control.
or
AutoPC95 DVin.
They are two very different bits of software.
The XP patch I sent you to was for the AutoPC95 DVin floppy disk program, because that's what you told me you had
But if you've actually got PC95 Camcorder Control, then that patch won't work because it's a different program.
If you've got PC95 Camcorder Control, then send me an email.

Ian I have been using successfully on Windows 98 and ME PC95 Camcorder Control version 4.01. It was supplied by Lynx with the Parallel Port cable that terminates with a 3.5mm socket that plugs into the LANC socket. I cannot get this software to work under Windows XP Pro. Can you please let me know if there is an update to this software, or some other way of using my camcorder to record through the analogue input-output sockets?
Thanks,Neil.
I have to start with an apology to Ian.I should have posted this sooner, but better late that never. Ian sent me an update to add to the PC95 folder, and now my Sony Camcorder can record again from the anologue inputs. Great support, great service, great man, I humbly praise the ground you walk on Ian, Thanks again.
