Is there a way to create an .avi file from Premiere with mp3 compressed audio? I've been trying to make it export that format, but the mp3 codec just doesn't show up in the audio settings when I export a movie: I have to export an .avi file with compressed video and uncompressed audio, then load that into VirtualDub to create an .avi with the same video and mp3-compressed audio. Not too hard, but it seems stupid when Premiere should be able to export it in the first place.
I can export sound seperately as mp3 compressed .wav file, but for some reason I just can't see the codec for .avi exports.
premiere usually comes bundled with EZ Cleaner - this will let you export to mp3.
the other alternative is to get soundforge, which can open avi files and export as just about any audio format under the sun!
mark.
Yeah, the thing is I don't want a seperate audio file with mp3 format audio, I want to output an avi file with DiVX video and mp3 audio in the same file. Premiere will happily output avi with DiVX video and uncompressed audio that VirtualDub can turn into the right format avi, but I can't find a way to output the file from Premiere with mp3 format audio. It's as though they deliberately ignore mp3 codecs in Premiere, as I believe every other codec I have on the machine is showing up.
Which version of Premiere are you using?
6.0.
