We can't get Nero 6 to work with drives on a LAN.
It refuses to see networked drives. It will see shortcut folders but NOT what's inside them.
Is there a networking add-on for Nero, a prtotocol we should use or another package the will work across a network?
Gavin
Seek and ye shall find....NeroNET is currently a free (beta?) download and might be what we need! Ahead have recently done a networking plug-in for Nero.
Downloading it now to what it does. The blurb says you can share a recorder - we don't need that bit - but we do need Network support for source material.
Gavin
I use recordnowdx which sees network drives.(even novell network drives)
Cheers Gary - Recordnowdx (AFAIK) doesn't support our LG 4040B writers (I guess that's our fault but we occassionally use RAM).
NeroNet isn't the answer for me - i just installed it. NeroNet Runs some kind of mini-server requiring me to create user accounts.
I haven't got the time or the inclination get past the first few error messages.
So you're having problems accessing SOURCE material from a network drive, burning to a local burner? I do that all the time with both nero 5 and 6 here at home. I've got mapped network drives between the computers and it works fine. Are the drives you want to access mapped to local drive letters? If not, give that a try and I think it'll work.
Timropp - you beauty!
Double DOH! I should have known that!
Have 5 stars - all sorted and working now.
Thanks,
Gavin
Good, glad that worked for you!
