There's a newer version of TMPGEnc on our site now.

Now defaults to PAL VCD settings on startup, so no fiddling required, just locate file and encode, burn to a CD with NERO (or other) and throw in your standalone (VCD compliant) DVD player and watch.....

To change encoder settings, just click Load and select the SVCD, DVD etc. (some also in Extra folder) as required, these preset settings are the best encoding setup so you shouldn't really need to enter the advanced bits!

Although we can't give full technical support, we've added a forum section to our site and will help as much as we can.

If you havn't used TMPG Encoder before, just do it! It's the best FREE VCD/SVCD/DVD encoder there is, nothing can touch it for quality and speed.

Does it support .avs files? I downloaded one from the TMPEnc site the other week and it didn't. Quite frustrating when I want to export from premiere using avisynth.

There's a new version of TMPGEnc (12i) available if anyone interested. This appears now to be a monthly update to get round the MPEG-2 time limit problem.
it's at http://www.tmpgenc.com/e_main.html

Ian, What do we do about the 30 Day Mpeg2 limit ? I have a copy of the Panasonic Plug in for Premier but like to use Avisynch and Tmpge... What’s your thoughts ?

Harry.

It seems that Hori is doing it for you by releasing a new update about every 30 days...

The version on our site doesn't have the limit because it was the last of the unlimited ones.
