Has anyone else tried these drivers (DV200RC3.zip) from the Pinnacle WebSite?
It is a big (70MB) download, but I think worth it.
I have been using the DV200 for some time with Premiere 5.1c, and found like many people, that the DV connection to and from the camcorder seemed to "lose sync" every now and then, so previewing/scrubbing was rather hit and miss. Also Premiere was very particular about sound file sampling rates being the same throughout a project. Overall it was rather unstable, needing frequent saves and reboots during editing sessions. I downloaded some drivers in June (DV200_300Beta2_0b14.zip) that seemed to work well, but were no good for projects over 10-15 mins (sound sync problems and memory leaks), so I went back to the 1.6 drivers.
The latest drivers seem much better: in particular there seems to be much tighter integration with Premiere, so that scrubbing/preview works as it should, the sync isn't lost between Premiere and the DV device, and Premiere doesn't crash any more.
Pinnacle FreeFX is included as well, and seems to work nicely. Overall editing is more productive with less downtime/rebooting/tearing hair out etc.

Hi
Which drivers are these? The only one I could find on Pinnacles site is a 35 mb download! I decided not to bother when I read Quote ..
"Do not use eIDE hard disks! If you need to work with eIDE drives please disable the DMA mode. For best results under Windows 2000 install the "PC standard" mode.
I would be interested to know if this is the same driver file you mention and also if you are using IDE disks?
Cheers

Hi
the driver I have downloaded is here:
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/support/display.asp?ProductID=317&SubDocTypesID=86
or got www.pinnaclesys.com, click Support>Miro Video Series(PC)>Miro Video DV200>Beta Drivers.
Yes, I read the notes for the driver you mention, but that one is for Win2000.
BTW you can also now capture DV up to 4 GB file size from within Premiere as well.
Yes I'm using ATA33 UDMA drives.
