I would like to be confident when I put a project onto DVD and do all that work! that it will play on any DVD set top player!
I finished the project! The final result was Great on my Yello800 and on 5 other machines! at comet and 3 of my various freinds machines from a 69.00 quid asda job to a 600 quid sony multi play machine.
But when the project was taken to where it would be shown on a loop after 3 to 4 minutes it crashed the DVD player they were using! I am told it was a high end sony.
This is NO GOOD I need reliability !!
And the ability to say YES THIS WILL PLAY - NO PROBLEM.
So to get a dvd I have written to play on all machines without doubt!?
I will have to buy the S201 dvd recorder from pioneer? and use authoring discs?
And buy pro software?
or not? or what?
If you buy the s201
can you write duel layer discs?
Can you say YES IT WILL PLAY?
Or am I barking and missing something fundamental here?
Can someone give some details on this?
Bill - pulling what hair he has left OUT!
and if I am honest its not much!

The S201 is alot better but, but not if you are going to use somthing like DVDit with it.
As far as i know all dual layer disc's are pressed and i think the machines run into the £1,000,000.
The cheapest software i would use with conferdance would be Reel dvd which is £1,500,then there's the SCSI card for the 201
It's alot of money and even if you charged £100 a disk you'ed have to do 50 odd disks before it even paid for it's self. I'd get someone else like Samron tec to do them and keep the dosh.
P.s how's the new camera
Dominic
Get it replicated to a DVD-Video spec. disc it's the only way you'll guarantee compatibility.
DVD-R (S201 Authoring and A03 General) is not DVD-Video, it's slightly different.
Domonic Hi and all the rest of you!
Yes I sort of knew I would get this reply to my Question. I was just a little upset when all my work had to be put to one side and some company re made a disc that worked for the person involved.
By the way I am using DVD IT PE and the results GENERALY are GREAT - never had a problem NO COASTERS HERE - thankfully ANYONE GOT A SPARE 1,000,000 TO LAON ME ?
Domonic - I love the camera YES love!
The picture is not as warm as my XL-1 but the clarity and colors are much richer - I suppose that is down to the 1/2 inch chips and decent lens. I have only shot about 5 - 6 hrs but I am getting the hang of it - The guys on this message board were correct the K6 ME66 mic package elliminates all the sound issues with the cam and the shoulder mount is just what I needed - Hows the XL-1?
are you happy with it - Since, I have had over 30 calls for it from another add I placed that seems to have been printed again by mistake in a camera mag!
The best man won!!
