Has anyone tried The Pyro firewire card in a machine fitted with a Matrox Marvel? It seems a cheap DV in/out solution if I can keep the analogue in/out and Avid Cinema of the Marvel. If I use VideoStudio to bring in DV via firewire can I then use the media in Avid Cinema? Am I likely to encounter Video for Windows/Directshow compatability problems? Thanks.

Yes, I have just installed the Pyro on my system which already has the Marvel. The two systems both work well on the same PC with no conflicts.

I have tried bringing in clips from Avid Cinema to VideoStudio which transfer with no problems, but they will not record out of the firewire Pyro card unfortunately.

I believe it is possible to do it the other way round though, taking DV footage in through VideoStudio then opening these files in Avid and outputting them analog, still to try this when time permits.

I am extremely pleased with the new Pyro card and it is an absolute bargain for the price. Got mine from Jacom £124.95 + vat. Staff there are more than helpful with aftersales.
