recording voicve over with SD+..........?

Hi can anyone help im currently using pinnacle SDV+ and am having problems recording voice over. Every time I press record the pc mic cuts out and mutes itself.
The soundcard is creative digital 1373 with audio pci 128D mixer. Once I reset the mic by unchecking the mute option on the mixer the mic works fine and playback is fine but just wont record with SDV??
Using JVC GR-DVL355E any ideas please?
