sorry if my question sounds a bit silly.
i have 2 different radio mics.
first one is: sennheiser ew100g2 transmitter and receiver.
second one is: sony urxp1 receiver
and utxb1 transmitter
basically i have an upcoming shoot where in i have to record a conversation between two people. and i thought i would have radio mics on both of them to record clean audio since its a corporate thingy.
my question is:
can i use one sony and other sennheiserver transmitter with a sennheiser receiver receiving audio signals from both the transmitters????
Hi Amarjeet
You won't be able to use 2 radio transmitters and one receiver to receive both signals, they will interfere. However, the normal way to do this is to have one receiver plugged into each audio channel on your camera. So Sennheiser in channel 1 and Sony in Channel 2. Then the sony transmitter will feed the sony receiver and the senn. transmitter will feed the Senn. receiver.
Provided each transmitter/receiver is on a different frequency this will work fine - I do loads of stuff like this. Also, with each voice on a separate track, it's much easier to deal with in post...
You don';t say what camera you're using - some consumer models use a single 3.5mm jackplug for both channels which may be fiddly. Pro cameras all use separate XLRs for each channel...
Hope this helps
thanks graham,
my only problem is that using two receivers on the camera would make it too heavy with lots of wires going around. i was looking for a way to reduce this complexity.
i am using a sony HVR-V1E.
is there a radio mic option that has two transmitters and one receiver?
or any other solution?
Hi Amarjeet,
Taking the time to browse past threads is a good learning tool and a way of seeing the working practice of others with like issues, particularly this thread.

No, it's impossible - it's the laws of physics.
You *have* to have two receivers - maybe someone makes a twin receiver with two receivers in one pack - but it is likely to be more expensive.
If you don't like the weight on the camera - you wear the receivers and run the signal to the camera on a longer cable.
