Hello im looking to buy another video just formaking VHS copies of my Premiere projects.

I currently have a old HRs5000 JVC video.

I was thinking of getting another JVC HRS7955/ or 5955 just so that i could start recording on both videos with one remote, (im assuming that all JVC videos can be run by one remote).

I was wondering what the svhs et did?
does this mean i can record SVHS quality on normal tape. If so can i only play it back in a jVC video or willmy customers video be able to play it back?

ALso the 7955 has a TBC, is this worth the premium as i will be outputting the signal direct from my Storm. Is it worth the premium for TBC?

You are correct with your reasoning of SVHS ET. It records SVHS quality pictures onto VHS cassettes.

You will have three recording options with these machines:

1 - VHS so everyone can watch it.
2 - SVHS ET, only people with ET facility can watch
3- SVHS

For normal customers you will still have to use crappy VHS I'm afraid.

I have hardly ever used my timebase corrector. I edit exactly the same as you and output from Storm. The only time I have ever needed it was for a brief insert edit I had to do at the beginning of a video when I forgot an important title. Fortunately I had enough blank space at the beginning to insert it. Unless you have a specific use in mind it will probably be very redundant.

Dear Sifi thanks for such a qucik reply.

In that case the 112 pounds JVC Svhs 5995 seems lieka good bet, but should i stick with this or save some further money as i have seen some mono vcrs for under 100.

I would buy (like many others here have done) the Panasonic NV-HS830 SVHS machine for around £145. Picture quality is great and its a good price.

I wouldn't touch a mono VCR with a barge pole. Your customers will not thank you for it.
