I have found that when using my Sony Z5 and the Sennheiser ME66 mic with the Furry Cat installed, at wide angle setting on the camera a vast amount of the Furry is recorded and not just at it widest setting either. I can see I will have to get some form of gizmo to set the microphone much further back. Any ideas and suggestions on this please. Pete

I think Hague have something that'll do it.

Get my test cards document, and cards for 625, 525, 720 and 1080. Thanks to Gavin Gration for hosting them.
Camera settings documents are held by Daniel Browning and at the EBU
My book, 'Circles of Confusion' is available here.
Also EBU Tech.3335 tells how to test cameras, and R.118 tells how to use the results.

bought thing from Sennheiser last year for that.
CCA mount, IIRC

Can get it from Canfords cheaper, without the grip. Got mine for about 20 quid......

There's a hole on the top handle of the Z5 towards the back that you should be able to screw a mic suspension mount into.

To be more specific it is a location for a shoe mount ,which when purchasing the camera a spare shoe mount is provided as part of the package, this comes complete with four mounting screws which make it easy to mount this item onto the camera, thus allowing any potential accessory to be mounted further back than the original shoe mount towards the front of the camera handle. However it may mean that you have the rear of the microphone attempting to poke your eye out as you try to use the onboard eyepiece on the viewfinder

We use these Rode units with Z1 and poles etc - cost about £20-to-£30 each from a stand at the IOV Show a couple of years ago.

Yes, I also use the SM5, with it fitted into the back of the holder rather than the front.
