Good morning all,
I had a total breakdown of ntl: at home yesterday
got home - no broadband & no TV
So I also missed Google's Dilbert update last night
(It seems they only have the update late in the evening and then go back to the original again).
Anyway, hopefully we'll get an engineer round tomorrow morning.
I suspect some "engineer" came round to the green box on the street corner yesterday to wire up a new customer, and disconnected me while he was doing it
John

Hi John,
Hi all,
Dear John,
Sounds like you may be able to make it to Mooblies,
Looking forward to being able to meet so many
Kindest regards all.
So it wasn't this one then John?
Chirpy.
P.S. Sorry to hear about your problems with ntl.
That looks like me
Ah well - we're off to Tate Modern tonight.
John
John,
If you type: http://www.google.co.uk/logos/dilbert00.gif into your browser address bar and change the letters that come immediately after the name 'dilbert', you might find the missing logo. It's a bit like searching for someone's password - not that I'm into that sort of thing mind!
Chirpy.
P.S. Do they make sugar? (Tate modern)
Dear John,
"That looks like me"
You will not be needing a "name badge" at the party then
Kind regards
So, presuming that's you on the left, that must be Olga on the right...then who's the guy in the middle???
Y-O-U Chirpy
John
But I haven't got that much hair!
But you will have if you keep eating Tracey's Rice Pudding
John
Good morning all,
Just got home - and ntl: is back again.
Goodnight
Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted for a few days so I expect you thought you were going deaf!
I'm back now tho as my trainig at work has finished leaving me time for the fun stuff!
best wishes
Sally B-M
P.S am looking forward to the party as well
Hi John, good to hear your ntl connection is up and running again.
Hi Sally, yes it was quiet without you. Mind you it's been extremely quiet all day today. I couldn't believe it when I checked the 'Chatter' forum this evening. There hasn't been a post here all day - not until I updated all my threads that is!
I went to London yesterday. I left home at 6:30 am. and got back at 6:30 pm. When I got home I just flopped onto the bed and went to sleep, that's why I didn't post anything here myself.
I've got my deadline to have a short version of my Dovercourt film ready by. I can't mention it yet though because I ought to wait until the congregation knows first.
Well, time to go.
Cheers,
Chirpy.
P.S. This edition of "So how about an 'Over 50's page?" will close on 29th May.
Evening all,
Been decorating all weekend and computer was left turned off - but I'm back now
John
Hi John,
I was beginning to think I was the last one left on the planet (Clark Kent!)
Not yet Chirpy
Hooray, at last I've done some editing!
Goodnight folks,
Chirpy.
And a resounding yippee from me as well. I've finally got my P4 running XP to recognise my Lynx DV card for use with Cinestream. So now I've got both OHCI and Lynx in together (OHCI for ScenalyserLive et al). And that means I can get around the annoying 1 second buffer that XP insists on filling up first before anything comes out of the OHCI card.
So now I'm back to a proper editing system, for the first time since July of last year.
Congratulations Alan - At Last!
John
Welcome to the final page of "So how about an 'Over 50's' page? - Part 11".
Yes folks, we'll be wrapping this up on 29th May so if you have anything important to say - now's the time to say it!
Congratulations Alan on finally configuring your PC. I don't know about you but I tend to leave things alone and turn my attention to something else if after a fair amount of attempts I can't sort a problem out.
Anyway - back to the editing.
Cheers,
Chirpy.
http://www.google.com/holidaylogos.html has many google logos

As long as you start Part 12 on the 30th Chirpy
John
I'd had a new set of drivers for the card, but kept getting Error Code 37 "Can't Initialise". On seeing that, I'd uninstall the card and go back to OHCI. But I finally tried ignoring the warning and installed and ran the NLE. It worked. By some magic, Cinestream manages to use the card without WindowsXP being aware of it. So, apart from some minor interference with XP (it greys out the Standby option in the Power Down dialog) it all seems to work. So, had I been sufficiently adventurous to ignore the warnings, I could have had it all fixed in January. Ho hum.....
Sorry John, I won't be starting Part 12 on the 30th.
Alan, I know that feeling of 'shall I, shan't I?' Awful isn't it - especially when you choose the wrong option!
Hi Gary, you've been quiet.
Chirpy.
Yeh , been busy doing other things.
have posted to the other sections , just not much in chatter ..... my russian joke may not have gone down so well !!!!!!
spent yesterday using a angle grinder adjusting pieces of metal ( post stirrups ) to comply with new horse riding regulations.
